Easter is just around the corner! Use this day to try out new recipes to feed your family, or look back at traditional Easter food and try your hand at hot cross buns, which have been a symbol for Easter beginning in the 12th century. Easter at my family’s house consists of waking up to Easter baskets on the table stuffed with goodies, going to Calvary’s Sunrise Service, dyeing eggs, eating a lunch (or dinner) of ham, deviled eggs, and mashed potatoes, and enjoying each other’s company.
Try out this devilled egg recipe this Easter to share with you friends and family, we hope you enjoy it!
Ingredients:
12 large eggs
¼ – ½ cup mayonnaise (depending on your taste)
¼ cup mustard
Dill pickle juice
Salt & pepper to taste
Directions:
Hard boil the eggs, peel off shell when done
Cut egg whites in half, length wise and set aside
Put yoke into bowl and smash with fork – combine with mayonnaise, mustard, dill pickle juice, salt & pepper. If you would like to add chopped pickles, you can do that too! Top with paprika if you so choose. You can alter the amounts of ingredients if you need to, it just depends on what you prefer.
Another neat idea is to put some food color in your peeled hard boiled egg to create some fun pastel colored deviled eggs!
